tire size and lift question......

OK, I have on 02 2x4 suburban. It has a 6in fab tec lift with 33x13 in tires. I don't like the width of the tires and it is a little to high for my kids.

so. I want to run a 305 or 285 tire. they are 33 in tall. one is 12.4 in wide the other is 11.5. what size lift is the min I could get away with.

thanks

probably just cranking the keys will clear that size tire...if you wanted more maybe just a 3in body lift or the superlift bracket kit (3.5")

i've seen 305/70/17 fit on stock suspension with trimming and fitting on cranked suspension with minor trimming. I would say do a 2" body lift and then do it...that way you still get a small lift and can fit the tires, but it's not too tall for the kiddos.

Buy bigger kids - your truck looks great!

Go with a 315/75/16

When you say you do not like width exactly what do you mean ? You mean all the way around or the front tires sticking out further then the rear ?

With a 6" lift all ready installed you need ZERO lift for a 33..That lift should accomidate 35 inch tires all day long.

I am perplexed , with 18" wheels a 305 tire is closer to 35 ..34.8 to be exact. a 285/18 will be 33.7 in a 70 series and 34.8 in a 75 series .

The size that gets you down to 33" on an 18" rim would be a 265 series :) but even then you will lose only an inch in truck height . . .
