Can't tell you for sure that a 2001 lower dash will fit with a 2005 console. What I can tell you is I just installed a 2003 Bose console in my 2002 and I just used the lower dash/glove box that came off the same 2003 truck. I think it would be easier that way rather than trying to make stuff fit. Just keep in mind with a later console there will be a gap between the dash and the console. If you'd like I'll post some pictures.
