tuners?

I want power, MPG, and longevity. Dream? Or is the tuner the way to go? Which tuner. Superchip 2714? or Superchips flashpaq 2815? Is there that much of a difference. Used or new? Can a used tuner just be plugged into my truck and work fine or do i need it reprogramed by superchips to clear the memory? Can anyone help with these questions.

If Superchips make a Flashpaq for your truck then I would go that route. I have one for my 07 2500HD and it made quite a difference in the truck. Are you looking for a handheld or are you interested in a custom tune?

Personally, unless I knew the person, I wouldn't buy a used one. You do take the chance of it not working properly if it doesn't have the latest tune for your truck in it. The Flashpaq gets it's tune off the website then you tune your truck. Getting updates that way is much easier than sending it back for updates.

The 2714 is probably the Max Microtuner. If the 2815 is available for your truck I wouldn't even think of getting the 2714. All of Superchips products are going to be Flashpaqs. The Flashpaq is so much easier and you get your updates right off the computer and you don't have to pay for them. I wouldn't even waste your time looking at the 2714 anymore if you can get a Flashpaq. You can go to www.flashpaq.com and research on there. They have a forum as well. Just get the Flashpaq and you'll be glad you did!!

I have a DiabloSport Predator Programmer on mine. It makes a big difference. I like the fact that i can change my tire size, fuel curve, spark curve, gear ratio, shift firmness, and s**t time. Those are just a few of the things it can do but my favorite is the real time data. You can watch almost every parameter on your truck through the handheld in real time. I bought my Programmer used off off ebay for $107 shipped.

I HAD a Diablo but their customer service s*cked!! I plugged mine in and it didn't work so I called them. They told me that my engine code for the 2007 Classic code "U" wasn't supported but it was for the 06. Same d**n motor!! They then told me that they had no idea when they would have a tune for it so I returned it and got the Superchips. Now that it's been returned, guess what, now they say they support it. I would have kept it and used it, but my experience with them blew so even if it is a better tuner I'll give my money elsewhere after that incident.
