CarQuest/WIX make a D@mn good filter that works just as good as those you listed and they cost less!

I once included NAPA in that list but, I will not buy anything from them anymore due to their sponsoring a TOJO NASCAR!

I'm not a GM Tech.........and since this is the ask the GM Tech forum, I would suspect the politically correct answer is the one you get over the GM parts counter........... AC/Delco.....LOL!

I use M1 on everything I own. In a pinch I'll use K&N. Loke the M1, it is made by Champion Labs and is a "premium" oil filter.

Oil filter usage along with "what is the best oil" are at least a weekly posted topic. You might just look back a couple of pages and hit paydirt

Both are good, but I would go with Mobil 1. K&N oil filters, like their air filters, sacrifice filtering efficiency for better flow. Mobil 1 has both good flow & filtering.

I agree with methodworks and Norseman, though. I can only find those filters online, so I just use Wix (Napa Gold & CarQuest) filters.

The only cool thing about the K&N oil filters is the socket on the end you can use a wrench on, for people who overtighten their filters and dont rub oil over the seal. Good idea I guess, but useless for people who know how to change oil the right way.

I use either Wix or Mobil 1. One of my fraternity brothers got a job at Wix, so he sent me a case of their filters that are typically sold as NAPA "Gold." One day, after a few beers, I decided to buy and cut open a Fram, a Wix, a Mobil 1 (used off my truck...wouldn't cut open a $10 filter otherwise) and a Purolator. The Fram had practically no media in it. The Purolator looked good, but the Wix and Mobil 1 were definitely bad ass. I think the major advantage to the Mobil 1 over the Wix is the high burst pressure. If you're running a mostly stock truck, the Mobil 1 doesn't make sense, as the Wix looks as though it would filter just as well.
