2500 Suburban Brake Vibration

02 2500 Suburban (84000 miles) in signature has vibration when applying the brakes. The best way I can describe it, is that it feels like a warped front rotor. Replaced the front pads and rotors with Napa Tru-Stop (their better) pads and rotors and still feel the vibration. Could this be an anti-lock or caliper? Would tie rod ends cause this? Old pads and rotors did not look bad when I removed them, although I was getting more brake dust on one side than the other. The caliper guide pins still had lube, and the calipers seem to move freely. Any suggestions? Has anyone had trouble with the made in China Napa rotors?

If yoru brakes are working ok check front end if any parts are loose? check wheel alignment. What about if you hit a big bump in the road does the front end shimmy?

The front end seems tight for 7,000 lb 3/4 ton, and tire wear is even. I also joined a thread in the 1500 series with someone else having the same trouble.

I run an alignment and auto shop and I can tell you that it is not the front end components being worn if you are feeling a pulse in your brake pedal. This is a brake issue. Does it have disc brakes in the rear also? I would try replacing the rear rotors or having them machined. The drums can also cause this if it is drum brakes. Sometimes it is hard to narrow it down to front or rear on a brake pedal pulse. Fronts are the logically first step. But no we havent run into any problems with the napa rotors.

The good: Follow up, last year I replaced one rear rotor after a pad delaminated and both rear sets of pads. Replaced the other rear rotor and my vibration is gone.

 

The bad: I am going to have to replace my emergency brake pads soon

Glad you found the problem, this is why you usually replace pads and rotors in pairs, never do just one side of an axle.
