Tracking / Subscriptions

The new practice that Subscriptions are pruned if there is no reply to the topic after 14 days does not really work for me. I find myself getting lost. Lots of times you get good replys on old posts. For that reason I used to track threads/posts. How am I supposed to track all that manually now? I used to get an e-mails about posts almost every day. As a result I used to log in almost every day. Now, these days I find myself logging in less often.
