Hello every1, I am planning on helping a freind install an alarm/remote start in his 04 Chevy Silverado and need the wiring diagram/schematics to the vehicle. I have tried searching on google but the info found was not very helpfull. I tried searching here but also did not find the necessary info. Can anyone help? I was trying to do the install by this Thursday so if anyone has it it would be greatly appreciated if you could drop me a line with the info. TIA to all help.

Just a word of caution if the plan is to install "extras" like remote start, window & door locking, starter lockout, ect... especially involving Directed Electronics products. (Vipor & Clifford for example) Although good products, the info. needed to install them are isolated to said dealers. Installing the alarm is one subject, but then you start integrating with the factory security which even then can be done realitively easy. With the multiplexed body module & everything else pretty much running off the data bus, you will need specific command modules to overide the "key sense" & specific resistance values embedded in the ignition key; for remote start to work properly. There is also a module to control the door locks that is year/model specific. Otherwise you will spend days installing numerous relay kits & soldering in diodes. They also use different terminalogy while being extremely vague with polarity issues for example. I guess what I'm getting at would be.. without discounting anyones knowledge of electronics, this is better done by the dealer of that specific system. And you also retain the warranty as well. There is just too much that can be misunderstood with grave consequences by misinstalling just one wire or diode.

Having said that, if it is a Vipor ect.. then I can give you info. you specifically need that I have "gathered" when installing these systems. Give me specifics about vehicle & I will try to map it out in terms better known to the majority. (factory remote for door locks?, alarm?,dome lamp monitoring?, ect..) Also the make/model alarm system adding in to the truck. If not built by Directed, than I am no help to you. If your trying to install with a schematic that any aftermarket shop manual supplies while matching oranges to oranges in theory should work, but it rarely does. They simply don't want the public trying to install their own system.

All of the diagrams are there.

If it's a viper you will need a 1700G or a 457G module for it to work properly.

Diode isolation also is critical.

Better be SURE you know what you're doing ........

You're better off paying $200 and having it installed.
