drivin around town is normal but once i hit on the throttle it will rev to 3k and no further. its not throwing any trouble codes im not sure what is wrong. almost feels like the rev limiter is kickin in

Sounds like something is either restricting air intake or exhaust flow pretty badly..

Is this a new truck? Gas or DMax? I am thinking that there could be something in the computer that is limiting revs for the first hundred miles or so. My daughter's Cobalt SS had a limit on the boost until the first 500mi and then it allowed a little more boost for the next 500mi - she did not reach full boost until 1500mi.

 

On the other hand, the new 07's have a torque management system that slows throttle response and appears to make the truck feel sluggish when you put the pedal to the metal.

 

perhaps all you need is a reflash of the computer.
