Power Door Locks / Keyless Entry / Add-on Alarm

Alright, my 2001 Tahoe is acting up. Here is the story and what I have tried. Let me know what you think and how I should go about further troubleshooting. I would prefer not to visit the dealer unless a last resort.

About my truck:

I have a 2001 Tahoe Z71 with the stock keyless entry system. I also have a GM Accessories VSC-3400 add-on alarm that works with the stock keyless entry system and uses the factory key fobs.

The story:

I was driving home today from work (very light rain at the time) and as I came to a stop at a light, I heard some relays clicking several times. When I got to a stop the clicking had stopped and didn't happen again until after I got home. By the time I got home it was all-out pouring down rain. When I shut off the Tahoe and pulled the key, the doors did not unlock as usual. Instead the alarm started going off. I tried the key fob and got nothing. I re-started the truck and the alarm continued to sound. I finally just got out and went in the house while the truck continued to go off until stopping on its own.

What have I done:

I went back out later after the rain had quit. Upon opening the door, the alarm started sounding again. Still no luck from the key fob or from starting it. At this point I disconnected the battery to try and reset the system. After 15-20 minutes I reconnected the battery and the alarm immediately started to go off with again no luck from the key fob or starting. So I disconnected the battery again and removed the add-on alarm thinking this was the problem. Now my power door locks don't work from neither the key fob nor the door lock/unlock switches. When I press unlock you can hear the relay click but that is it. When I press lock I don't hear anything. I pulled the both the lock and unlock fuse and both are fine. When I put the lock fuse back in it locks the doors.

So...any ideas? I'm assuming it isn't the add-on alarm. My only thought is it has something to do with the keyless entry box. Should I replace that? Why do the doors lock when I replace the fuse? Am I getting a constant door lock signal? Do you think it has anything to do with the rain?

I am at my wits end with this one (as with many electrical problems). Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Well, I figured it out this morning on the way to work and man do I feel like an idiot. I noticed that the relay started clicking again and alot more often. The doors also locked tried to lock a couple of times. So I pulled over and pulled to door lock fuse. I drove about one more mile with the relay still clicking away so I pulled over again and tried to pull the relay. When I opened up the back hatch I noticed a box wedged against the door lock/unlock switch in the back. Doh!!!

So, moral of the story is, if your door locks are doing something strange check all the switches first!

Sorry to waste your time with my stupidity!
