2006 Z71 Leveling Kit Q's

I need to know three things before I do this ( I plan on doing it this weekend):

1. Were you able to fit 33's and how do they work when you have to go offroad in terms of rubing and bottoming out

2. Did you change your shocks? If not how is the ride with the shock extenders? I have a Z71 and I know it has longer shocks

3. Can I see some pictures? I really want to see how it looks before I go drop the money on the parts, alignment, and new tires. The only pics I found were with the stock tires

I searched but did not see any specific posts dealing with the 06 Z71. Thanks!

Nobody? My concern is bottoming out offroad and shock travel with the extenders.

I levelled mine out about a year ago. I added the Ford keys and cranked about 1.7" to level out. I'm running 285/75/16s, which is a 33 inch tire. I have had NO rubbing problems... the tires clear with plenty of room, off-road included. My shocks are still stock and I've never bottomed 'em out. In short, this was the best mod I've done to this truck. Looks great and never given me any problems. I highly recomment it. The ride did firm up a little bit, but in my opinion, for the better. There is less body roll and it feels more like a truck and less like a mushy sedan. Definitely go for it.

Actually 285/75R16 are closer to 31 Inch tires.

My 2001 I have only Turned up the Torsion Bars up all the way, and I have 305/70R16 Claws on and I Have never had a problem the 2 years that I have been running them, I have never bottomed out even hitting a big dip with the tires turned all the way. The only Time I have rubbing problem is in the winter when the ice and snow bulids up at the bottome of the fender well, but I jsut usually kick it out and the problem is solved.

Use stacked stainless washers to increase travel on the stock shocks, 5 or 6 per side or use the Truxxx kit that has the new shock brackets to raise the shocks bottom mounting location. I haven't heard anything good about the shock extenders. Good thread on the CAFCNA (Avalanche Fan club) site about using the washers.
