Tire Pressure Help 2003 Tahoe?

Recommended Posts

Posted

I have an 03 Tahoe and I was wondering what the recommended tire pressure is from GM. The sticker in the door jam has been rubbed down so I can't read it.

The sticker on the door jamb, is recommended for the vehicle. There has to be a happy medium from the sticker to what the actual tire ratings have. Depending if the tire is stock or after market. On my truck, I run 40 on the highway, and the recommended sticker says something like 38psi. If i'm off road the psi drops to 20

You probably should go by the recommended pressure on the tire itself. It usually says "pressure cold" or "max pressure". Set it at the cold pressure or about 5psi under the max pressure. Like said above, the door jamb sticker is a general recommendation.

My door jam on my '02 recommends 35 cold. I run 37 unless towing my camper then I run 42 in the rear and 40 in the front. I am running Bstone Dueler HL Alenza's with a max cold pres of 44 PSI.

I have Firestone Destination LE tires on it. I would like to get Michelins. But I just got the truck and the tires on it are brand new so I can't justify them yet
