Jack Kit Removal?

I'm seeing what the correct way of removing the little jack kit is on my 95' Ext. Cab. I know the bolt goes into the chassis, and I crawled under the truck to see where it was attached. My question is how do I remove it totally, I'm looking to put some subs in and I need to move the thing. Unscrewing it with a pair of ViseGrips is my only thought, because the nut it's screwed into under the truck is spot welded. Help?

Get two nuts that thread onto the rod. Thread them both on and tighten them together with two wrenches. Basically turn the top nut like you were trying to tighten it, then turn the bottom nut like you were trying to loosen it until they are solidly tightened together. Then with a wrench, start turning the bottom nut counter-clockwise and the whole rod should turn and thread out of the chassis.
