Trouble With Rear Brake Line Leak

Recommended Posts

Posted

Replaced rotors and calipers on rear of 2001 yukon yesterday and am having trouble with a leak on the right rear where the Banjo Bolt(?) bolts to the caliper. I had to take it back of clean it better install another new copper washer and torqued to the 15 ft lbs recomended. It still leaked and I have now tightened as far as I feel comfortable. The reman callipers didn't appear to have the area where the washers seats machined like the OEM ones. Any thoughts? TB

Yeah..you should have TWO copper washers-not just one.

bolt-washer-banjo-washer-caliper is the way it goes.

My bad, I did put two washers on per the instructions. But it seems to leak from between the calliper and the banjo nut so I was focused on that area. TB
