Last week I got a "service Airbag" light and message, I took my '03 GMC 1500HD 4X4 to the dealer on tues. as of today (fri.) their "master mechanic" has not been able to fix it. What is so hard about diagnosing the problem and fixing this system?

The airbag system is very complex and a slight difference in resistance in a connector can trigger the air bag light, that is why GM does not reccommend repairing damaged air bag harnesses.
