2004 Headlight Questions

I have a 2004 Sierra.

 

Unfortunately 1 of my headlights has a crack in it. First I was thinking, just buy new headlights, put it in and walaa, No more crack.

 

BUT

What if I can do better than that? What is involved with say, putting in the projector lamps that are on the Denali's and such? Or HID's? I think the HID's are not plug and play, nor cheap.

 

I just want better light ... I like to see at night time.

Ebay (or the person selling a set on our own classifieds here) works to buy what I need, but ... what do I need? Can I upgrade simply by putting in a projector lamp assembly and bulb, or is there more to it than that?

I believe you can just replace the assembly
