2003 GMC Sierra PU. Windshield wipers will not turn off.

Is it the circuit board. Is there a recall?

Where is the motor and circuit?

How do I get to it?

:D there is no recall, but more then likely it the wiper control board. it's under the cowl just between the windshield and hood.just pull of wipers, remove 2 screws from cowl and i think 5 push pins. then remove wiper module.

I could have sworn there is a TSB for this. Something about the wiper motor cover needing to be replaced. I looked but I couldn't find it. Maybe someone else with access to TSB's can take a look for you.

on the older chevys you just clean the board off and touch the solder joints with a low wattage iron and its all fixed. they did recall alot of those boards in the older models.

I've had the same problem. There are TSBs for this and I think if you're under warranty they will either replace the control module or patch it for you. The problem is moisture entering the control board through the vent hole ON TOP of the board. Great design GM. Mine got so bad and so embarrassing that the last time I got my truck washed I had to pull the fuse for the wipers so they'd go off. Anyways, the shop will replace the board if it is badly corroded and has short out, otherwise they'll put a small patch over the vent hole to seal it. I put a piece of duct tape over mine. Never thought I could actually say I fixed my relatively new truck with duct tape. I'll let you know if it works, come next rain storm.

My '01 has a problem where the wipers don't park next to the cowl, when they are on intermittent, you can see they don't go all the way down. I checked all the way from 2003 to 1998 and there is no TSB for the wiper module. Either take the board out and replace it or replace the entire module which includes the motor, much more expensive. I think if you go to the dealer he will replace the entire module. You can buy the board for around $100.00
