Mudflap Install Question On 07 Nbs Silverado?

I just purchased Husky Liners MudFlaps for my 07 NBS Silverado. A nice touch was that they included cut to size 3M tape strips to apply to the area where the coutoured flap hits the paint. My question is that I will need to drill holes in the metal to apply these...should I use touchup paint around the holes to prevent rust from forming? Anyone have any info on this? Thanks in advance for any opinions/tips

Sometimes the screws they provide are coated with wax. If they aren't, don't use touch-up paint, use silicone on the screw or something similar. The screw will likely scratch off any touch up paint anyway, but the silicone will seal out moisture and oxygen, the two main ingredients for corrosion.

i second the silicone idea, my dad used silicone when he put his mud flaps on and there is zero rust around them

Screw-em and glue-em on the car. Most of the time I use ordinary silicone gasket RTV. Never had a rust problem from the screw holes.
