Abs And Traction Off Lights Both On Simultaneously

After a wet June in Texas, after startup and warning lights temporarily going out, both the abs warning light and the traction off warning light come on. I was wondering if this is the abs module or should I be looking to the wheel sensors.

I guess I am confused why there are no codes. I do have a code reader and there are, in fact, no codes. This is with an OBD code reader. Is there a different code reader that I should use?

We have the same problem on our 07 Yukon. Back to the dealer twice already, no joy. The codes, if any, don't get stored "hard". They clear when the vehicle is shut off. Seems to come on when the vehicle is stopped (light, stop sign type stop), for no reason. Tried the scanner, no codes shown even when the ABS and traction control lights are on (this is an OTC scanner that also reads CAN systems). It is irritating. Third time and I will lemon law the vehicle................it conceivably could be a safety issue.

New to the forum and have been looking around all morning.

I have this exact same problem. I have read allot of threads where people have the ABS light and the ABS pump motor continuously runs. They solve the problem by having their ABS module rebuilt. In my condition, the ABS light and the Traction Off light are continuously on and the ABS pump motor is not continuously running.

I guess I am looking to see if there is any update with this thread or if anyone has any suggestions.

Easy fix there is a ground under the driver's seat area located on the truck's frame outside the vec. Depending on the year there is one or two seprate grounds. If you stand outside your driver's door get on your knees and look at the frame look forward where the body mount is and it's there. It is very easy to find. Now when they undercoated the frame at the factory they put the ground on top of the coating making it a have poor contact. Remove the ground do both if you have two clean the area where it touches the frame and reinstall. Spray undercoaying over it when done. This should take care of it if it doesn't your ebcm is open. good luck :D

Thanks for the reply. Just as an FYI, I have a 2001. I will give this a shot as soon as I get home. How would I be able to tell if the problem was from a faulty wheel sensor?
