coming to work this morning and the light came on , checked it with the scanner at work, code p01401? came up saying bank 1 downstream o2 sensor heater faulty. is bank 1 drivers side? i also recently changed the upstream o2 sensor on same side because it was rattling, coincidence(sp)? problem with cats?

Sounds more like a problem with the o2 sensor and not the cat. The only thing the after cat (downstream) sensors do is tell you your cat is working or not. No effect on air/fuel mixture. You could either ignore the ses light or replace it. Depends on the level of annoyance. Bank 1 should be driver's side.
