Lowering Nbs Truck, Not Lifting!

I have been thinking about lowering my truck....At least 2 inches in the back to level it off. I live in Buffalo, so I have to deal with snow. Am I better off leaving it stock height for the snow season? I was also kickin around maybe 4" rear and 2" front lowering....Will that affect my truck in the winter? Does anyone know any kits that are out there and how much they cost? Thanks guys! And VMAX2007, I dont wanna hear anything out of u till I get done modifying your trucks picture!

well with those tires you have on now, your not going to go very far in new york snow no matter how high or low your truck is. Id keep it stock back, front raised 2 inches to level it off and put the stock wheels if you still have em on for winter, as salt and the mix of slush snow dirt and salt really wreaks havoc on nice wheels.

Look around here and you'll find a thread about removing the 2-inch blocks on the rear suspension. That'll give you a nice, level, little bit lower ride for free for the time being and shouldn't make a difference in the winter. From what I recall, the job is extremely simple. Give it a look. There are two blocks that sit between the axle and the leafs. Pull it out and, presto, 2 inches lower in the rear!

Removing the rear axle spacers from my 2wd NBS Silverado lowered the back about 1 1/8" as measured from the rear fender well arch. It does look much better, and I see no issue with winter driving.

LOL.....I am going to put stock wheels on for winter obviously....Someone would be on some good drugs to drive 24's in 2 feet of snow. LOL......Would I just have to buy lowering springs for the front and a rear shackle kit for the rear if thats what I chose to do? I dont want to go too extreme, just lower it down a little bit so the wheels tuck in a little nicer...Also what do u guys think about taking off my Z71 stickers? Would it make it look a little smoother? Hey Jeff you're lucky I haven't figured out how to edit pics yet but I'm working on it and have a couple good ideas! Give me a couple days. LOL

I say take the stickers off and lower the back via removing the blocks, it would look good. Later if you decide to go lower you can, and being that you have a 4WD lowering it 2/4 probably would not be a big deal in the winter.

Obviously I bought a 4x4 truck because I live in NY.....Just cause u have a "Z71" doesn't mean u have to put 44" super swampers on it! LOL It just means I dont wanna get stuck in the snow when winter time rolls around. Obviously like I already said, the stock tires will be on for winter....so back to my original question...does anyone know anything about lowering the trucks? Ok I can take the blocks out, but after that what is there? How come I start a thread to ask a question and then people question me instead of helping answering the question that I originally asked! LOL

Not a lot of people have dropped 4x4's on here. There are a couple, but none with the NBS trucks that I've seen. That's probably got something to do with your lack of responses.

This is a 2/3 on stock 20's. I used spindles up front & at a full turn the wheels do rub. Other than that it rides better than factory.

O by the way, I put back on the lower valence & it looks alot better now.
