Very Upset With Myself

Recommended Posts

So the other night I set an air freshener on my dash. and it tipped over some how and the liquid leaked out. I come out the next day to find that it had tipped over and leaked out. The liquid made the paint on the dash bubble up and peal off the dash. What do I do?

If it's on the hard plastic part, you should be able to buy a matching spray can of dye at your local upholstery shop.

Gently remove the finish where it is bad and then clean the area (and the area around) it big time (several times) to get off any dressing you have used and it should be pretty easy to blend in. I use a spray degreaser on my projects, followed by something lighter like clear windex. I've used a dye product call MarHyde before on truck dashes and trim and it worked very well. It should work on the soft pieces too but I haven't done any of them myself.

I know Im not giving complete instructions here but ask the folks you get the dye from and they can probably help with the details.

Good luck.
