Newbie Questions - 08 Sierra Denali

Hi all,

This is the first forum I've found that has alot of discussion on the GMT-900 platform...thanks for that.

I've ordered an 08 AWD Sierra Denali loaded minus rear seat entertainment system and 20" factory wheels and I plan to turn it into a "Texas" Denali.

I plan to run a set of 20" BBS RD-Truck wheels with the 285/55/20  BFG AT.

Originally, I wanted a Ranchhand Grill Guard but it will require the grill be cut so now I'm thinking the Frontier-Gear full replacement might work better and I think they make a matching rear bumper. I will remove all badging on the paintwork and tint the fronts with 20%.

Now some of the questions:

1. Does anyone have tuning for the 6.2 with tire size adjustments???

2. Who makes leveling kits for this truck. I see alot of reference to it here bu

nobody seems to state were to get it.

3. Do you think the 285/55/20 will be a problem on a 20mm offset 9.5 rim without leveling???

4. Does/Will the GM-SIR tuner work with nav system???

5. Anyone running any kind of bluetooth on the factory nav system, like the Parr

t system???

It's probably six weeks before I take delivery and I'd like to have all the exterior stuff ready to go before it arrives. My luck tells me the truck will arrive a few weeks late while I'm at SEMA.

I also can't answer any of your questions, but I can tell you that you're going to absolutely love the truck :-) As far as I'm concerned GMC hit one out of the park with this truck.

I test drove one a few weeks ago for about 30 minutes and that was all the time I needed to make my decision. I delayed ordering it until I could research some of the parts I wanted. It was a difficult decision to get the navigation b/c I'm not sure that I can make the stereo sound good using this head unit even with a JL cleansweep, RF 3Sixty or the new Alpine piece (if it ever gets released) but I'm going to try. I'm an audiophile and difficult to please but I don't want to change the head unit b/c we have a crime problem at my office. It's going to take a while for me to do everything I want to do because I have

ittle free time these days with my full time job in IT and part time working for

my friends dealership.

I'd also consider supercharging it. If I could make this thing as quick as som

of the other things I've owned recently, I'd be in hog heaven. I recently sold an 06 Jeep SRT8 and I've owned an 02 M5, 01 M3, 01 CLK55. Right now my dealership demo is an 03 SL55.

A man after my own heart ! I purchased a black '07 SD for two reasons.... 6.2L engine and 6.2L engine :P . So far I've removed everything attached to the exterior of the truck. Tinted the fronts to match the rear windows. Added 20" BBS - RW wheels with 305 BFG g-Force tires ( I had some rubbing on the center of the wheel-well liner but I just removed the center plastic piece - problem solved). I added NFab steps. Added 15" front/14" rear eradispeed rotors and painted my calipers. I just installed a Corsa Performance "Sport" exhaust (dual ,exiting under the rear bumper). Sounds bada** !! The truck is currently at Ground Force in Penn . They are lowering the front by 2" and the rear by 4" or 5" ( final decision will be their's, based on their expertise and experience in the suspension area). I've also added a Outlaw Performance CAI - I just like the name :puke: . Next mod will be tuning out the bad and tuning in the good. Specter Werkes / Sports in Troy,MI. has been able able to get 506 rwhp out of my '07 Corvette- all that's required is the desire and the $$$ ( 402 ci stroker motor, heads, cam, you get the picture) Anyway, the plan is see what we can do with the 6.2L and a MagnaCharger. I've never owned a supercharged vehicle B/4 so I want to give it a try. When I get the truck from Ground Force in a week or so, I'll make every attempt to provide pics. My computer skills are not that good  even this this little fellow agrees. As far as Bluetooth and the other questions , I can't comment. I just like to rolldown my windows and put my foot into it... that keeps me smiling. Good luck with your new SD, my wife loves ours. I may never get to drive it after the SC goes on.... poor me , I'll be stuck with the darned Corvette
