Torsion Bar Keyways

I have a 00 gmc sierra 1/2 ton and would like to take the factory rake out of the front end. I was wondering about torsion bar lifts. If you install the re-indexed ones or even the factory Ford keyways does this just allow you to crank them further than stock?

Sweet truck! When you look at it from the front, do the tires bow in from cranking the torsion bars? Do you know what I'm talking about? Did it make it ride rougher? Oh and what size tires are those?

Mine has the Ford keys too. It lifted the front of the truck almost 2 1/2 inches. I have 285/75/16 Pro Comp X-Terrains on mine. Basically you can go with 33" tires with this setup and not worry about rubbing. It will make your truck ride rougher but I haven't seen front tires look like they are bowed from anyone doing this conversion. I would suggest getting an alignment as soon as you mess with your T-bar keys.

Hope this helps.

I bought my keys from the dealer and picked them up the next day. $62 for both (not sold in pairs)

Just give them this part number and they will tell you when they can get them in.

If you need to tell them what there for tell them a 1997 F-150 4X4.

It made it in there now, thanks. I have been thinking about doing this for a long time, now I think you just made up my mind, I'm doing it! It just sucks that I just bought a brand new set of 285 bfg MT'S about 2 months ago. Do you think it will look s**tty with the 285's

No, it will be the same height as my truck but my tires will be almost 1" wider.
