Hello

I have a 2005 Tahoe that showing a constant "check tire pressure" with the onboard diagnostic computer. When I check it shows the LR tire is reading way low when cold and sometimes will clear itself after the tires heat up. I have manually checked the tires when cold and hot and they are all the same pressure. I am thinking I may have a bad sensor, but am wanting to be 100% with a test and if it is I am not sure how to replace it......So my question is how can I test this to be sure and what is the procedure to replace it.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm not sure if you yourself can test these sensors. As for replacing them, that would be pretty hard, they are inside the tire, part of the valve stem if I remember correctly.

They are not cheap either!

If you do bring it to a tire shop make sure they are certified to mess with these tires, because the sensor can easily be damaged if you don't know what you are doing.

I'm assuming the only way to diagnos these things is will a nice OBDII reader.

Well this is just my 2cents, maybe somebody else knows a little bit more than I do on here.

A friend of mine has a 07 4runner with them and they were malfunctioning too, he had to have the dealer replace them, good luck.
