Passenger Led Mirror

Have an 03 Silverado and the Passenger Mirror does not defrost anymore. As far back as I can remember it did, I belive but now the dirver and rear window do but no passenger mirror. All the LED's work and it folds in no problem, just the defrost part does not work. Anyone have any ideas as where to start on this issue.

This is a real common problem,You need a new mirror glass,When you call your dealer make sure you give them your VIN.

I had to change the one on my '04,And I think a lot of guys on here have had the same issue.

Perfect thanks for the help. So I wasnt going crazzy trying to remember if it ever worked. Do you have any idea as to what happens to the mirror glass to make it stop working. I am the type if it breaks I want to know why it did. Also what is the easiest way to remove the old mirror glass.

You know honestly I don't know why they were going bad,I just know we change a lot of them here at the dealership.I also know we had to send some of the ones we changed under warranty back to the GM warranty parts center for evaluation purposes.

As far as removing the old one,I just tilted the glass all the way down and then took a flathead screwdriver and pryed up on some of the retaining tabs,after so many are pryed up you can pull the old glass out of the housing.

To install the new one just apply equal pressure to the face of the glass while pushing it onto the mirror housing,use a rag placed over the glass when doing this,just in case!
