Too bad that's been around forever. I think it has something like 18K sigs after 7 years. Not too good out of the many millions in this state. DPS won't even entertain the idea. We're stuck with a front plate here.

We share the same pain up here in BC Canada. Its total BS I hate having a front plate, especially on a sports car...Buy a 100K vette and than mar it up with a s**tty old plate. Not my idea of fun.

The tint thing, we have that here too, but its only the front 3 windows. If they were to make it illegal to have it on all windows, it would have to be only on new vehicles, some of the factory tints are actual tinted glass, not film. I don't think they could make you go replace all your glass.

Yeah, same here in iowa

except the tint.

Here in Texas there are getting to be so many d**n toll roads that you almost have to get on one to go to the frikkin grocery store. Moron liberals keep votong for more... Where did all of our tax money go? SOMEBODY'S sittin on one hell of a slush fund.

Anyway, the argument there is that they want a front and rear plate to photograph when you blow a toll booth. (as if you were from Oklahoma or something)

Heheh :rollin:

Only time I have ever been on a toll road is when I was in. . .yep you guessed it, Texas.

They are everywhere down here. Pretty cheap to travel on really. A buck or two goes a long way. In the Austin area where I drive daily a trip down the toll road makes a drive 10 minutes instead of 45 in places. Time is money so its' worth it if you are trying to get across town. A little over a million people are in the city every day (including me) now according to traffic studies. YUK!

I live near San Antonio and drive in myself. I usually average about 350 miles a day.

HAHAHA! I still owe you like $2.98 or something for that, don't I? :chevy:

FYI for people that don't know what we're talking about...When I bought Fred ('01 Silverado) from Zembonez, I was driving home, and happened on a toll road...Since the truck still had the Texas plates on it...Well...Jim got the bill in the mail a while later. :dunno:

For the record, there was no toll booth (I don't blow through those). Just a sign that said "No pass? No problem! We'll bill you!", and no exit before the toll road began.

I've never seen a booth-less toll road before.

We have 3 in the richmond area, andone of them has those gates.... It's hilarious cause the EZ pass/Smart Tag lanes have the gates infront of them and during Rush-hour they look like windshiel wipers moving at warp speed like they were in a torrential downpour.

Mike... The 2 bucks was worth it for the laugh we got out of it.

Most all of your toll roads have no booth here. You just drive through at the speed limit and it tallies up your bill. With what is called a TexTag you just have it debited from a special account. Some do have a side 2 lane set up where you can pay with cash but that would take too long.

By the way... SOMEBODY GO BUY MY SONOMA in the for sale section... or click the link in my sig! I have another toy coming home soon and I need the garage space.

Agreed...Its worth the buck to avoid traffic on the non-toll roads up here in DFW as well.

The tolls suck, but it kinda works out when you consider that our friends in about 46 other states have some odd thing called 'state income tax'. ;-)
