Alarm Immobilizer

Does anyone know how to disable the alarm/imobilizer system on my 2000 Tahoe, Is there any way of switching it off so I don't need to use the keyfob? I have only one key fob and If I loose it I have no idea how I will get going again. All ideas welcome.

I'm not sure that you can't use the key. My 07 gmt900 will unlock and start w/key after locking with remote fob.

The OEM alarm will arm or disarm with the key fob or just the key.

Wether you use the key the fob or the door buttons it's the same result. Alarm on when locked off when unlocked. Try ebay for another fob. get the same id# as on the back of yours. Easy to program the new one. Not a problem if you don't want another or lose the one you got. Of course this assumes a factory alarm not any kind of add on system not like was on my 03. Had an aftermarket alarm and no fob at all. I just went in and took it out. Stock system still works.
