'03 Tahoe: Hey Great! I Don't Need A Hex Key To Get The Ca

Recommended Posts

hi all,

i've owned almost a dozen cars in my 15 years of driving - either half ton gm's, chevy f-bodies, or ford fox-bodies... and i've never had any problems EVER replacing brakes. caveat: i am hard-headed and an easily frustrated idiot at times.

how the heck do i get the calipers off of this truck? rears are all i've tried to this point (LR was where the metal tang was scraping). I've backed both the top and bottom bolts completely loose but cannot get them out of the caliper. do they even come out? do i have to pull the rotor off to do this? am i missing some sort of sequence or tool? DAMMIT!!!

hardheaded as i may be, i did make an attempt to buy a hanes/chiltons at the store when i got the pads this afternoon, but they didn't have one for the 2000+ truck. sh1t, i was happy to not have drums on the back for a change and was hoping to get all four done before the sun went down. i could have done the front's of my '95 z71 five times tonight already!!!!!!!!!!

please please please someone help!

adam
