Nbs Brake Lights Are Strange

With the sun starting to rise later, I noticed something this morning while at a stop light. My brake lights come on with the slightest touch of the brake pedal, like you'd expect. But, when you start to release the pedal, the brake lights turn off very soon, before the brakes even let go of the rotors. I can sit there at a light and slowly let off the brake, just enough to keep the truck from rolling forward, and the brake lights turn off. I noticed that any light braking I'm doing, like in a parking lot, is causing the lights to blink on and off. That's really dumb.

Anyone else notice this? Next time it's dark, check your tailgate for the 3rd brake light reflection.

Same here, except I got a 2006 Silverado Crew and I notice it does that at night (Obvious reflection off the guy's winshield behind me), don't know for sure why it does that, sometimes I gotta mash the brake pedal when I am already stopped and I brought it to the dealer and they simply a module (I think the BCM, but not sure if it was related to another problem I was having) and it still does it. I guess it is just one of those quirky things about GM....................

Its a brake switch, my uncle bought a NBS 07 silverado and had the same problem, took him 3 trips to the dealer to have it figured out, new part being installed this week. Look into it thats Dangerous!

very true mr. optimist, but I dont have bulbs out back anymore, got LEDs for all of my brake lights, it cost me alot more to install but it is a heck alot brighter and more responsive. :)

I got the same thing, had my back window open and could see my 3rd brake reflection on the tail then was slowly letting off and noticed the light went off way before the pads let go of the rotors.

Mine does the same thing. I noticed it after 1 month of owning the truck. I've been meaning to take it in for a few things including this. I just haven't had the chance yet.
