I have a 07 nbs silverado, and I am wanting to make a dual air intake setup on my truck. I was wanting to know if it was possible to move the MAF in front of the throttle body? where i would have the y pipe spiltter located. because I would need the MAF to measure both sides of the incoming air? thanks- joe

I wouldnt see why you couldnt move the MAF infront of the TB. You would definately have to put the splitter in before the air enters the MAF.

Not a problem, you can do it. The only reason for not being able to do this is that the MAF sensor is now closer to your HOT engine. Unless you relocated your IAT (intake air temperature) sensor, it is located in the MAF sensor and may be influenced a tad by heat soak. I see this as minimal though. For design purposes, I would do my best to have a strait piece (about 6 inches or so) going into the MAF for propper air flow readings and please do not remove the screen, it just messes with the PCM. The screen keeps the airflow strait when going over the MAF sensor wires, removing it causes inaccurate readings.

Yeah I have a y pipe, and i was going to lead one side to the stock location and the other right over the extra battery tray. From the center of the throttle body, each pipe goes out about 20 inches, the only problem is that the wire leaving the maf is not very long and clearance around the belts could be a issue.
