Adding Steering Wheel Controls To An 03 Sierra

I have an 03 Sierra with no controls on the steering wheel. I have read some posts saying that you have to get your dic programmed if you change it. I got looking on ebay and there was the same steering wheel with only the audio controls and no dic controls. (basically only controls on the top spokes) First what vehicle comes like that? and could I just add that steering wheel instead and not have to worry about doing the DIC programming? Easier? what do think....input would be appreciated.

To get audio controls you have to have the steering wheel with the push buttons. Then you will need a new clock spring, expensive. I have the part# at home. Then if you can find a dealer thats knows what they are doing, for they have to call the tech line and get the proper code for redundent radio controls to even program it. Most dealers will say they can't do it or charge too much. If you do a search here there have been a ton of post explaining every step with part numbers. Some times the dic will work, some times you have to have that programed also.
