Backup Cam For Gmt 900 Truck

What are you guys using for a Backup Cam on your new Silverado/Sierra's...I was wanting to get one and mount it in the tailgate protector....was wondering what people are using and where they got it from??

On my last truck, I used a cheap (~$50) license plate mount camera from ebay. Came with a long RCA cable too. It was the cheaper cmos kind. It failed after almost exactly 1 year of use, but overall I think that was an ok value. 50 bucks a year isnt too bad for the added convenience. The reason I like the license plate mount (not the kind that makes a frame around the whole plate) is that it can be angled down so that you can see the top of your reciever hitch ball and still see everthing else for backing up. Makes it easy to attatch a trailer.

 

I have an avic-d3 on order for my gmt900, and probably will wind up gettng a similar camera for it as well. Some of those more expensive ones cost $150+, so you could buy 3 cheaper ones for the same amount. Picture quality is good enough to do what you need.
