Drl's Don't Work Even In Broad Daylight

Ok i have a 2000 Silverado, standard cab stepside. It's got a 4.8 V8 with a 5 speed manual. Since i've bought it i've tried to figure out why my Daytime Running Lights(DRL's) haven't worked no matter how bright it is outside. I've checked all fuses and tried to swap the Relay's around and no change. They worked one day briefly but since then haven't worked. I'm assuming that it's the light sensor on the dash that has caused it but i'd like to know for sure. The headlights/taillights just come on all the time and i'd like to get the Running lights to work as i switched to Amber bulbs and i love how they look. Thanks Very much. Hopefully you can lead me to the answer :) ~Cole~

Cole,

do the regular headlights work using the switch?

when you say DRL do you mean the daytime running lights next to the turn signals that come on when you put the truck in gear, or the auto-headlights that are supposed to come on when it's dark?

if it's the DRL, then you should check the neutral switch on the trans (I think, I have a 5.3l auto)

if it's the auto headlights, check the sensor then the headlight switch.

if your headlights don't come on at all, either auto or by switch, check the TCB fuse in the lower left corner of the engine compartment fuse panel. I had the fuse there corrode and I lost the headlights and the SECURITY light stayed on and the battery would drain in a couple of days.
