Another Nav Question

I would like to add factory nav to my 2008 LT2, I don't have bose. I have been doing a lot of reading last couple days. I am wondering why "you have to have bose to make the nav work" is it because the hu puts out a very low signal? would it work with an aftermarket set up, like the JL cleansweep and amp?

You can use a factory NAV without factory BOSE. You'll need the adapter that the BOSE folks would use to keep the factory head and add an amp. I forget the part number.

I'll tell you though unless you are getting a really sweet deal on the NAV unit you'd be way happier with an aftermarket NAV/DVD. And you wouldn't need the extra BOSE to AMP adapter, just the GMLAN adapter for the OnSTAR. It will be as cheap or cheaper and will have many more features and much better sound quality.

Good Luck.
