2007 Yukon Exhaust Question.

Hey Guys,

First off this site is great.(Do wish there was more Yukon related topics but oh well).

I have been told that the mini muffler looking thing right in front of the tailpipe is some kind of resonator or something like that. I was wondering what would happen if i cut it off and put on a chrome or stainless tip the length of the piece coming off. Will I gain or lose power, will I get a better sound. Is there any negatives to doing this. I figure its an easy task and right now do not want to do muffler swap. Please give me some info on this.

Thanks,

Greg

I did the opposite, i changed the muffler and left the resonator and tail pipe. If you delete the resonator you may get a drone or hum on the highway which can be annoyying. If you notice only the 6.0 s have them. If you do try it, you can tell the rest of use what it s like.
