Installed New Goodies Today...

Hey! Installed my Access Lorado bed cover today. It fits well right out of the box and went on in about 15 minutes. Nice tight fit. Also added some Putco stainless bed rails and the GM accessory tailgate spoiler replacement.

I was hesitant to buy a soft cover but I think it looks pretty good. We'll see how well it holds up. The Putco bed rails help hide the fact that the bed cover sits above the bed sides. I think the GM tailgate piece looks much better than the original spoiler did with the cover.

What do you think?

Part numbers:

  • Putco Bed Rails - #59890

  • Access Lorado Bed Cover - #42289

  • GM Tailgate protector - #17802389

does the tailgate close easier with that cover on it instead of the spoiler?? I just put a lund on mine and it is a little rough closing the tailgate.

When I bought my truck, used, it came with bed rails. What are they for?

Eric

Tying stuff to it?

I thought that too until I moved a frig for a neighbor and the rope just slides up and down the length of the rails. They're slippery. You can't tie off tight to one.

You can tie stuff to them but they are mostly decoration. Small stuff like a few 2x4s are pretty easy to tie up using them. Not sure about a fridge.

It does close easier. The new part is thinner at the top of the gate. I think it looks a lot slicker too. I paid $30.00 for mine at the Chevy store.

Zembo, How much did you pay for your Access cover and your Putco rails? I got the original Access cover and I think it was about $400 and I paid $180 for the rails. I suppose I need to update my pic now since I added the rails a month ago.

Well. I sort of got a wholseale deal...

I really like the cover. Thanks to all of you guys that recommended it. I'll see how well it lasts. My truck lives in a garage and gets driven 2 or 3 times a week so it should last a long time.. I drive a company car most of the time.

That looks good.

My brother has had that cover on his truck for a few years now and it has held of really well. The only tough part is that it is difficult to get clean when the truck gets worked in dusty muddy conditions.
