Hi, I just bought a 2004 GMC Yukon SLT 4X4 and am having an issue with one of the remotes. It seems to work fine for locking the doors but quite often won't unlock them. Could this be just a dead battery or is the remote not functioning properly? I just think it's odd that it locks the doors no problem but most of the time doesn't unlock them.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks

If just one of the remotes causes trouble, it is mostly likely the remote. You can try a battery, but my guess it is the remote. I have one doing the same thing.

If both fail to lock or unlock, it may be the relay (labeled unlock and lock) located in the left electrical center of the dash. Change the lock relay to the unlock relay and see if the problem follows. I also had that problem few years ago.
