It had the remote prep pkg from the factory.
xccelagator Posted December 4, 2007 Author Posted December 4, 2007 Thanks Vmax! I have the LT1 package and I believe the window sticker said Remote prep. Nice to know the it is fairly cheap compared to aftermarket ones. Dan
shedberg Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 Congrats on your purchase... now do the right thing and post some pictures of it.
Jaredkm Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 If you need it, you could get way more range and 2 way function with a aftermarket one. If your vehice is always close, then its not a big deal, just go with the GM one.
jcn7vc Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 I ordered my truck... How long did it take to order your truck? Does it go all the way to the factory or is it more like searching for stuff that was already produced?

Does it go all the way to the factory or is it more like searching for stuff that was already produced? Factory order. Built to my build sheet. Ordered it on Jan 22nd 2007 (first day GMC Sierra's were orderable with the 6.0). It was built on Feb 22nd or 23rd and I received it March 10th. Dealer dealt at invoice right from the build sheet and I got all rebates/incentives that were available at time of delivery. which was $2000 (two $1000 cash back deals) and 0% for 36 months.

I have an aftermarket unit in my truck...it's labelled as 'ProStart' from Canadian Tire, but I've seen them in many other places under different names. Anyways, it's a 2way remote so I know when the truck starts, or the doors are locked etc. And it will work from approximately 2000-3000 feet away! That's great when it's -30c outside and you're at work and can't see the truck in the parking lot from where you sit.
