This may have been addressed before, but here it is. Check the plug on the rear of the truck for corrosion. Mine failed at the #3 blade and it was for my electric brakes. Don't be stuck without them when you need them. Take it apart and regrease it. The replacement is $62 at the dealer!

I had to replace mine this past spring, and my buddy with a 2001 Silverado had to replace his also.

Always a good idea to check an eye on this piece...especially if you live in an area that uses a lot of road salt.
