lakeozarkman Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 I have a new 08 GMC Sierra Denali AWD and would like to lower it a 2 or 3 inches, my last 05 Sierra Denali was easy to do, just took the spacer out of the rear spring and put two wheel drive axel housing bolts on and unwound the Torsion bars 2 1/2 turns then realigned the front end and presto my truck was lowered 2 1/2 inches. Does anyone know if the suspension is the same on the 08 GMC Sierra and can I lower it the same way??? Thanks for any help, Lakeozarkman
Rocco715 Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 No, the GMT-900 platform uses coil over in the front. I'm not sure if the aftermarket suspension companys consider AWD the same as 4x4 but they do not make lowering kits for 4x4's. Pretty much your only option is to get drop shackles by DJM or Belltech to bring the ass end down 2-3"s and level it with the front.

Hey Thanks for your responce, I think I will call the lpcal GM dealer and order 2 sets of axel housing u-bolts for a two wheel drive and take out the 2" block and slip these new u-bolts on that will fit and just drop the backend down about 2", what do you think? Thanks, Lakeozarkman
