Bfg Vs Dick Cepek

I recently installed the Rough Country 2" leveling kit on a NBS Silverado. I am looking to buy new tires and I am trying to find out which tire is better. 285/70R17 is the size I am looking for.

 

Does any one know a site or store that offers these tires for the cheapest price? I would like to upgrade my stock tires but I am also looking to save money as is everyone else.

 

These are my two choices:

BF Goodrich All-Terrain KO

or

Dick Cepek Fun Country II

 

Which tire would you choose and why? And where can I get these cheapest. Thanks.

I went with the BFGs (size LT285/70R17 D load) and couldn't be happier. Definite improvement over my stock 265 tires which were quite bad in terms of mud and snow traction. I was surprised by how quiet the BFG tires were, even at 70+mph highway cruising. I was also glad that I went kinda overkill in terms of the tires load capability. I loaded my truck to the max a couple of times with the old stock tires and the sidewall flex was scary.

 

I don't have any experience with the Dick Cepek's but I've heard nothing but good things about their entire line of tires. I will say this, you can't go wrong if you get the BFGs.

 

I went to Discount Tire last summer and bought mine. These are expensive tires! Just one of these tires cost me more than all four tires for my beater ('95 Civic). Everywhere I looked, including online, had comparable prices and I couldn't really find a deal going on. When I look for tires I usually look at tirerack.com or discounttire.com.

I've had both but it's been a few years ago and mfg. may have changed. For me the Bfg's wear much beter. Didn't notice a difference in road noise, the truck was too loud to hear the tires. Both sets were on a 79 F150 with just over 400hp and I was 18 or 20...they got abused alot!

does any one have milage that they have gotten from either of these tires. Most of my driving is highway with a little dirt road for hunting.

My dad had a 05 Hummer H2 before he got his 07 Denali and the H2 came with the BFG's I think the tires had between 58K-60K on them and probably had about another 40K to go on them when he got rid of it. BFG TA K/O last longer than any other tire i've seen

I ran a set of 31 10.50 BFG AT for 65K. These are Excellent tires for road and slight off-road use. They dont like mud to much, they coat and will not clean the treads. Try National Tire and Wheel or 4 wheel parts. I have gotten excellent service from both.

was a die hard bfg man for years, but after getting a deal on some dick cepek fcII i have changed my mind. wear better, ride better, look better. will never go back.
