Trail Light Problems

I was using my Boss's trailer and the right turn signal didn't work so I figured it was just the bulb so I changed it out. The truck was running and the lights were on when I changed it. When I plugged the new bulb in I blew a fuse. So I changed the fuse and plugged it back in and then I didn't have taillights and right turn signal. I figured it was the trailer wire so I rewired it and now the right turn signal works fine but the left turn signal is very week and the right one will blink very weak with the left turn signal on. Also it has not tail lights either?

We hooked the same trailer up to another guys truck (same year and make as mine) and it worked fine. Do you guys have any idea of what it could be?

I have a 03 Chevy Silverado and the fuse I blew was the right turns signal/trailer. It has been replaced and since we rewired the trail it doesn't blow any more.

Any help would be appreciated.

A bad ground can affect the lighting. Most trailers use the hitch as a ground to the vehicle. If it or the ball has a lot of grease on it, that would hinder the grounding.
