Anyone Else Install The 03+ Taillights On A 99-02

I installed a set of '06 taillights on my '99 chevy silverado Z71 and wonder who else has. If you did, at the bottom where the '03+ had the marker light/turn light, did you tape off the hole or did you get a socket and make it functional? For the past year that I have had them, I have just had the hole taped off. I did just find to socket's that fit in the hole laying in the garage and will be wiring them in soon. If anyone else has wired in that marker light, did you wiring just as a running lamp or also as a turn lamp?

I bought mine with the correct wiring harness, but the light operates as a turn signal...it alternates with the upper lights flashing when headlights are on...pretty cool.

I know they are supposed to alternate. I was not lucky enough to win a set of taillights off ebay that included the harness and I'm to cheap to buy the taillight harnesses, so I modified the sockets to fit in the new lights

I saw an auction for just the harness for $25 a set on ebay last week...If I had known I would have told you.
