Speedometer Problem

Having a strange problem with the truck. They used some funky setup for the cruise control where the speedo cable from the transmission goes into the lower part of a small box under the hood. Out the top comes the seperate cable that runs back to the speedo. So far, from testing, the cable from the transmission spins when the wheels are in motion, When I spin the Cruise box to speedo cable with a drill, the speedo works fine. Somehow the mechanical transfer inside the small cruise control box has been lost. Anyone have any ideas? Really don't care about the cruise control, just want the speedo working!

hi alex,you can take the box apart and take a peek,or replace the cable for a non cruise set up,that goes from trans to speedo,and maybe there is a "coupler" that can be purchased to eliminate the box,gl
