Anyone else noticing that the Bass really sucks as in its too intense on the NBS? on my 07 I have the bass turned down considerably and its still booming. Really annoying, spoils a good song.

On Friday had a custom enclosure built and put under the passenger rear seat with a JL 8 inch sub, and an Alpine 450 mono amp running it, all the rest is stock (Bose)...200% improvement, factory sub sucks!

I agree with Ryan. I like a lot of bass but the bass that is produced with the factory speakers is horrible. Its too intense and everything rattles, not good quality bass at all, ugh it just annoys me too.....mine is turned almost all the way down too until I can upgrade.

Without a doubt, the factory GM radios are the worst I've ever heard. Even the "high-end" Bose in our Suburban sounds like crap. And I don't know why they even bothered to put speakers in the rear doors of an extended cab as they produce almost no sound at all... at least neither mine nor my dad's '08 Chevy have much output.

Turn your sound mostly to the back speakers and turn up the volume a little more and it will balance out nicely.

I'm with saskfarmer. Just set the fade to the rear a bit, and tune bass/treble accordingly. I've heard worse factory radios, this one isn't all that bad. You can install an aftermarket unit, you just need a GMOS Lan 01 module. You also need a relay (not sure of part#) to keep that turn signal "beep".

This isn't a fix for the bose system, or xm radio though. I will be replacing mine soon, but have to save my pennies. I have audiophile quality in the house, and if I'm spending the money, I may as well put it in the truck as well.

I turned my treble all the way up, bass at 0, and a little fade to the rear. I think it sounds pretty good for stock. At stock presets it definatly needs adjusted to personal taste.

Sure It doesn't compare to my old stereo in my Mustang; Pioneer head unit and Fosgate component speakers with a Hx2 12", Kicker amps totaling 1800w. Cost me over $2500 also.

Bass is great, if it sounds good. Lots of vehicles just have that dull/muffled/distorted "bass" to keep the kids happy. I've got the Bose/TNR in my YD, and just about everything is useless except for CD (or Rear DVD) Audio. Right now I'm using the 6-disc changer to play CD's with 256kbps MP3's burned as audio tracks. With the "Rear" soundstage setting and adjusting what little you can with the 3-band EQ (Bass Max, Mid close to the middle, & Treble Max), it's what I would call "acceptable" or even "descent" depending on the track. Most folks that listen to it are even surprised with how "good" it sounds compared to what they've heard in other Bose or generic sound systems in GM vehicles. And honestly, I would have to agree.

So, it'll do.... for now. At least until I eventually replace the whole thing with a real sound system that has a FULL range of sound, including good quality bass, mids, and highs.
