Ive got a set of RECON LED tail lights for my 1999 silverado. When i put them in.. and hit the brake... it blows a fuse. If i turn on the running lights... it will blow that fuse... what the hell is goin on?? lol. Note* this is the second set of tail lights.. so i know its not the actual tail lights... maybe do i need a resistor?? i have no clue.. i hate wiring.

You have a wire crossed somewhere. The only way the fuse is gonna blow as soon as you turn on the lights (as long as the lights are good) is if you have it shorted somewhere. LEDs are not big consumers of electricity...

with the led lights... you take the connector.. and pull the bulbs out.. then you stick them into connectors on the LED tail light... its straight forward.. and makes no sense. wiring in truck is stock as far as lights and stuff.

got the lights at a 4 wheel parts show.. had em shipped directly from recon... 150 bucks.. cant beat em.. red smoked. I want them working.. they look sweet

I stand by my original post.

I'm not saying YOU did something wrong - BUT - If this is a simple plug in setup and it blows the fuse when you plug in the new lights but doesn't blow the fuse when you plug in the OEM lighst... the light has an issue. It's as simple as that.

in the crappy directions it gives.. it says somethin about reversin the neg and the positive... but... it would take a while and many fuses to find it...lol.

is it possible to plug the connector in backwards?

just a thought

When installing LED DRLs in my truck one didn't light up at all after installed, so I took it out & rotated the connector to the opposite side & put it back in & bingo it worked, might work for you?

also I was looking at your sig & mods, sounds like a bad ass truck man. Sure would like to hear that exhaust
