Abs Pump Continuously Running

My dad was driving his '99 Sierra 1500 4x4 with the 4.8 and 142k miles the other night and the abs pump started running and would not shut off. I had heard of this issue before and told him to pull the fuse out. I have been doing some research in looking to have the abs module rebuilt vs. buying one off a salvage vehicle.

 

Are the abs pump/modules the same for 99+? Are they the same on a 1500, 2500, and 3500? I had located a used pump of a 03 and a 02 for a close comparison as to having the current one repaired.

 

Anyones input would be great. For now we have the fuse pulled, but I'm wanting to fix it so we don't have to stare at the abs and brake warning lights.

The ABS Module has a shorted chip in it, there are a couple of places around that repair them

for about $150 . Do a search on the forum.

There are several abs rebuilders on e-bay !

Most charge less than $200. Check it out over there!
