Likely the Vmax. I sold my '05 Crewcab 4wd 2500hd w/8.1 and Allison to buy this half ton. Drag racing isnt exactly what they were designed for. It is a heavy truck. But fully loaded with weight or pulling a trailer the 8.1 would run the quarter mile in half the time.

I had exhaust, intake, tuning, 4.10s etc...it was a hemi eater, but it's real performance was shown when I had 12K pounds on 4 tires...then its a beast. Pulling and hauling, not dragracing

Exactly right! 8.1's are not slow by any means, but they do not shine until they are loaded down. My guess is that the VMAX would prevail. I think that my moms Escalade (LQ9, 3.73) is faster then my dads Dually (8.1, 4.10), so the new VMAX should definitely win. I do realize that that Dually's are heavier then a 2500HD, but like I said the 8.1 is designed for weight and I do not think that the difference would be a lot.
