hello,

i have a 2001 Tahoe 5.3L , if the truck sits for more than 3 days the battery goes dead. i have replaced the battery and still have the same problem.

i disconnected all aftermarket items including alarm and i still have the problem.

i noticed that after i shut the vehicle down if i wait like a minute some of the gauges on the cluster move up. the second i open the door they go right back down, but go back up when it sits for another minute.

any ideas?

i appriciate your time. THANK YOU

I have a 2000 bravade with the factory radio that is set up to turn off when the door opens.. It will kill the battery in 4+ days IF I DO NOT manually turn the radio off with the radio power button.

Thank goodness for the internet - I did some reading - and tried it as a first test - before trying anything else more substantial. I too disconnected an alarm that was not to blame..

The radio is not illuminated or anything but since trying this No more dead battery. It seems this may be a common problem for the factory radio from this era.
