Oil Burning/fouled Plug

hi all, I had to put in three qts of oil over a 3,000 mile interval. I'm not leaking any, so I figure it's something internal. I have a 1999 C2500 OBS with 157,000 miles on it. I went ahead and did a complete tune up on her, and found the culprit. #4 cylinder plug was ashed over pretty heavy, so that tells me I have a valve issue, sticking, bad seats,etc. Do you think sea foam would help, or I'm I looking at getting a valve job done? Any advice would be taken to heart. Thanks guys, Jeff from Ohio

If all plugs were ashed you might have a chance with system cleaner but just one i would lean towards vale seals/ guides or oil ring. Does it smoke and if so is it worse first start in morning or sitting for long periods.before going off the deep end and pulling it down do a compression check if low continue with leak down test at tdc and bdc find out where it is going. Good luck

Thanks for the info. I think it was just the one plug. I'm waiting on a buddy of mine to have a free stall in his garage to do some tests. This just really sucks. I've babied this thing, unlike my '72 Cheyene, or my '74 custom which I litterly ran the balls off of. Those trucks were fun. I upgraded both of them from points to HEI and wow. Unfortanely, a telephone pull killed the '72 and I sold the'74 to get the '99. Again thank you for your input on my situation. Jeff

I forgot, I got caught up in my old trucks. It does smoke a little on start up, but goes away when she gets warmer. Been kind of hard to tell with all these temps in the teens though. Thanks again, Jeff
